Konstantin Gordeetsky is currently the head of the Southern Customs Sector, but he wants to head the State Customs Service of Ukraine.
Based on the results of the first round of testing, he advanced to the next stage of the competition.
In 2020, Gordeetsky received a reprimand for the unsatisfactory work of the Odesa Customs anti-smuggling department, which he headed at the time.
“Save” everything you earn. Gordeetsky’s declarations show that for many years, his family of four lived at or below the subsistence level, while regularly accumulating hundreds of thousands of hryvnias in savings, visiting the UAE, and buying expensive cars and real estate.
In 2020, after buying a Toyota RAV 4 for 837,000 hryvnia, the family had 10,000 hryvnia left for the whole year, or 869 hryvnia per month.
In 2024, his wife purchased an apartment in KADORR City (Odesa) for UAH 2.64 million, while the market price started at UAH 3.4 million.
The Gordecki family also significantly underestimates the prices of their property. His wife sold a Land Rover Discovery for UAH 149,000, which is significantly below market value. Such an understated price could have been indicated in the declaration to avoid financial monitoring, which was carried out on financial transactions of 150,000 UAH or more.
The official’s wife purchased a 2019 Lexus RX350 for 603,000 UAH (approximately $21,000), at almost half the market price. If the car had been declared at market price, the official’s family would not have had enough money to live on.
Interestingly, the car was sold the following year for UAH 1.2 million. In fact, the car “doubled in price” in a year of use.
And now, an official whose leadership saw the fight against smuggling officially declared a failure, and whose declarations reveal financial “miracles,” is claiming leadership of the entire customs service.
MEZHA analyzes each candidate for the position of customs chief and submits the results of its monitoring to the competition commission.
