NABU and SAP exposed a large-scale scheme for selling green energy from the occupied territory, where one of the ultimate beneficiaries may be Rostislav Shurma, Yermak’s former deputy. The amount of damage is 141.3 million hryvnias. Nine people have been notified of suspicion.
“Until the end of the war, I have appointed you as my senior”:
For another year after the occupation of solar power plants, Shurma continued to control the SES through front men and receive funds for the sale of electricity at inflated rates through his brother’s offshore accounts.
They were damaged, electricity was not transmitted to Ukraine, but they received payment for this from the state-owned enterprise “Guaranteed Buyer.”
At the same time, while people in the controlled territory were experiencing blackouts, the companies supplied electricity to the occupied territory and billed the residents under occupation for electricity.
“He was reported to by the Minister of Energy and the heads of key state energy companies” — according to NABU, Shurma controlled the operation of Ukraine’s energy system through a committee he himself headed and used this influence for his own interests.
“If it turns out again that some people get nothing and others get something, there will be NABU and criminal charges. Believe me, it’s better to shut up now than have NABU come after me later,” said employees of the state-owned enterprise involved in these schemes.
The border will monitor developments in the energy sector, which is extremely important at a time of constant emergency power cuts. All those involved in the failures to prepare the energy sector for protection must be held accountable.
