At the hearing in the Tymoshenko case, the prosecutor’s motion to seize her property was considered. Despite the defense’s prior familiarity with the materials, consideration of the motion was postponed until January 21.
“Yesterday, the lawyer stated <…> that 99% of the materials are the same <…> and now they need a whole day to familiarize themselves with the materials,” the prosecutor said.
“This is our tactic,” the lawyer said, responding to the judge’s question about what the defense could do during the one-day break to familiarize themselves with the materials.
PR instead of preparation: during the break to review the materials, instead of studying the documents, the lawyer and Tymoshenko gave comments.
Despite Tymoshenko’s statements that she would not post bail but would file an appeal, 13.65 million hryvnia of the total amount of 33 million has already been paid for the MP.
The funds were contributed by individuals associated with one of the main sponsors of Batkivshchyna, MP Kostyantyn Bondarev.
We remind you that Tymoshenko is suspected of bribing MPs. According to NABU wiretaps, she tried to “crush the majority” and offered MPs $10,000 per month for this.
Mezha will continue to monitor the cases of MPs and officials so that public attention prevents them from evading responsibility.
