Searches, undeclared houses worth 13 million, fictitious savings: candidate for customs chief Menshikov

Daniil Menshikov is the former head of the Lviv Customs Office. In 2022, the State Bureau of Investigation conducted searches at Menshikov’s place of residence in connection with the import of more than 60 cars from abroad without paying customs duties.

A full check of Menshikov’s 2022 declaration by the National Agency for Corruption Prevention established:

  • failure to declare four houses in Kyiv with a total area of almost 1,200 m² and a total value of over UAH 13 million (registered to his cohabitant, the daughter of businessman Bushinsky and co-owner of a group of companies specializing in construction and real estate);
  • questionable savings: the candidate’s cohabitant saved UAH 46 million more than she could have: from 1998 to 2022, she officially earned over UAH 42 million, of which she spent UAH 25 million on real estate purchases and still saved UAH 62.9 million.

Searches related to customs schemes, undeclared property of 1,200 m², and savings that do not match official income are questions that the Commission should hear answers to.

MEZHA continues to analyze each candidate for leadership positions in customs and submits the results of its monitoring to the competition commission.
