The High Anti-Corruption Court confiscated 8.5 million hryvnia worth of property from Taras Palienko, deputy chief of the Kyiv police.
❗️This happened after an investigation by Skhemy into a top police officer who registered a 220-square-meter penthouse in his mother-in-law’s name (who officially earned UAH 100 during her lifetime).
Interestingly, the family tried to get rid of the property to avoid confiscation of the asset — the apartment was sold for 8 million hryvnia.
The High Anti-Corruption Court recognized these assets as unjustified and decided to collect 8.5 million hryvnia + confiscate two parking spaces.
Recall that after an investigation, the High Anti-Corruption Court confiscated the apartment and car of top police officer and arms dealer Yuriy Nerukh.
❗️This is not the first case that demonstrates that the police need to be rebooted with competitions for top positions and integrity checks.
