Mezha monitors all stages and analyzes each candidate. We continue to introduce you to those whose integrity raises questions.
Meet Viktor Denysovets, candidate for head of customs and chief specialist of the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission in Volyn Oblast.
He tried to find himself in politics, in particular in the Party of Regions, caused a traffic accident while intoxicated, his family is engaged in blueberry cultivation, craft jam and fashion, although he declares income from entrepreneurial activity of 1 hryvnia for 2024.
In 2010, Denysovets ran for the regional council from the Party of Regions and was a member of it.
In 2021, the Lutsk City District Court found Denysovets guilty of causing a traffic accident and driving under the influence of alcohol. He was fined 10,000 hryvnias and had his license revoked for one year.
In 2024, Denysovets again got behind the wheel while intoxicated — this time the case was closed due to “lack of evidence of an offense.”
His wife’s business: 231 hectares and 1 hryvnia in income from blueberries, jam, and honey.
The candidate’s wife leases 12 land plots with a total area of 231.9 hectares. Denysovets himself owns three more land plots.
At the same time, his wife’s officially declared income from entrepreneurial activity is laughable:
2024 — 1 hryvnia;
2023 — 12,000 hryvnia;
2021–2022 — 0 UAH.
231 hectares of land, actual economic activity (which can be seen on the ground and on the family’s social media accounts) — and 12,001 UAH in income over three years.
His wife is not registered as a sole proprietor and is not a member of any legal entities. The format of their activities, income accounting, and tax payments are highly questionable.
Viktor Denysovets, with a background in the Party of Regions, more than one court ruling for drunk driving, and a family “business” with an income of 1 hryvnia, is applying to become the head of customs — an agency that needs a reboot and honest professionals.
