A case of treason has been opened against propagandist Petrov

The investigation believes that Petrov helped Russia conduct subversive activities during martial law through his own media projects, broadcasting Russian propaganda narratives. He resigned from the National Military Memorial Cemetery after a scandal involving his exemption from mobilization.

The SBU registered proceedings against Vladimir Petrov on January 14. According to the investigation, through the media projects “Iceland,” School of Corruption, and Lumpen Show, he denied the Russian invasion, called the war a “civil war,” legitimized the “DPR” and ‘LPR’ as alleged “states,” and conducted information and psychological operations.

MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported that Petrov had been working at the National Military Memorial Cemetery state institution since July 31, 2025, and had been booked until January 21, 2026.
