We continue to introduce you to the candidates for head of the State Customs Service.
Mykola Marchenko has been working in the apparatus of the Servant of the People faction since 2019 and was also a member of the political council of the party’s Kyiv city organization. Marchenko currently holds the position of first deputy head of the Secretariat.
In his autobiography, the candidate mentions working as an assistant to a member of parliament in 2014 and 2018–2019.
However, open data confirms something else: in 2006–2012, Marchenko was an assistant to Mykhailo Chechetov, deputy head of the Party of Regions faction, known as the “hand of the party” and a figure in cases involving fraud during the vote on dictatorial laws.
Stable “winnings” in the millions. For three years in a row, Marchenko has declared income in the form of winnings at a bookmaker’s office totaling almost UAH 1.9 million.

Such regular winnings every year look not like luck, but like a separate financial strategy.
And now a person with a background in the Party of Regions, deeply immersed in the party apparatus of the current government and with millions in “bets,” is running for the position of head of Customs.
